Comment: I remember well Alfred Sorlein telling of the work being done on a new building on the James River for worship. So proud!

Comment: This little stone church means a lot to me. This is where my roots came from. I was baptized, confirmed and married in this church. My dad (Albert Gunderson) helped build this church. This little stone church will always have a special place in my heart. God Bless.

Comment: While researching my Gran family history, I discovered Our Savior’s Lutheran Church’s “new” web site and it is wonderful. The entire Anton & Hannah Gran Family were members. Anton b1873 and Hannah b1878, and several of their children, are buried at Our Savior’s West Cemetery. To preserve my memories, I attended your church in November 2011 and enjoyed a great service and the “Smorgasbord of Soups”. My father, Lawrence Gran, was baptized by Pastor Ole Brodland on July 26, 1914 and confirmed by Pastor J M Runestad on February 19, 1928. The elaborate 8-page certificate booklets provided are such great keepsakes as my father’s 101st birthday is approaching.
